We're happy to answer your questions, and below are the ones that have been asked frequently.
Please let us know if you have other questions that should be answered here.
When is the market? The Fairlington Farmers Market is open from 9:00 am-1:00 pm on Sundays. In 2024, the market opens May 5th and runs through the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving (November 24th.)
Where is the market located? The market is held at the Fairlington Community Center at 3308 S. Stafford Street in Arlington. Most vendors will be located along the back plaza of the community center with larger vendors setting up along the back of the FCC parking lot and the service road off S. Utah Street.
What will be sold at the market? We have a mix of fresh produce, meats, eggs, seafood, flowers, baked goods, honey, jams, prepared foods, bread, cheese, and coffee. All vendors are producers who grow and/or make their products within 125 miles of Arlington. For details on specific vendors, please visit our Vendors page.
Are pets allowed at the market? No pets are permitted in the market, except registered service dogs. Please leave your furry companions snuggled up at home, or be prepared to secure your pet at least 20 feet from the market boundaries.
Is the farmers market a composting drop off site? In response to concerns about health and safety with regard to the spreading of the Corona Virus, we have temporarily suspended the Compost Drop off at the Sunday market. You are still able to drop off compost at Arlington's Earth Products Recycling Yard.
How can I keep up to date on market news? Updates will be posted to our Facebook page in addition to a weekly market newsletter distributed by email. Information about the market will be included in the monthly FCA All Fairlington Bulletin. To be added or removed from the email distribution list, please complete the form on the Contact Page.
Will there be enough parking for vendors trucks and shoppers? Patrons are encouraged to walk, bus, or bike to the market. Shoppers are asked to be a good neighbor and avoid parking directly in front of the residences across from the community center. Please park instead in one of the 145 spots available along S. Utah Street, 32nd Street, and in the community center parking lot. There is also ample parking available one block away along Quaker Lane. Vendors will be permitted to park in the FCC lot to unload and load, but will otherwise park along Quaker Lane or in the South Utah Park off-street parking lot (3191 S. Utah Street). Market rules prohibit vendors from parking along South Stafford or South Utah Streets adjacent to the Fairlington Community Center.
Whom do I contact if I see trash left behind after the market closes on Sundays? The on-site market manager will be responsible for ensuring trash and litter has been disposed of around the FCC plaza. Vendors are required to remove any debris before they depart. After-hours, you can direct questions or comments to the Market Committee which is comprised of local Fairlington residents.
Will there be amplified music/sound at the market? No. The market will not have any amplified sound and will comply with the county’s noise ordinance.
